Paramount Pictures Corporation (colloquial: Paramount Pictures; Paramount; Mountain; Viacom/Paramount) is an American film studio. It is a subsidiary of ViacomCBS. Paramount is the fifth oldest surviving film studio in the world, the second oldest in the United States, and the sole member of the "Big Ten" motion picture studios still with a location in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hollywood. It is the 6th largest studio by revenue, being behind Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group.
In 1916, film producer Adolph Zukor put 22 actors and actresses under contract and honored each with a star on the logo. The company's headquarters and studios are located at the 5555 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, California. Paramount Pictures is a member of the Motion Picture Association (MPA).
It has a television arm known as CBS Paramount Television. which has a division named for Paramount (Paramount Television, a production and licensing company).
